Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) has taken a major decision to further improve the quality of its digital services. Keeping the monthly subscription fees unchanged, the company has increased the speeds of all existing internet packages by up to three times.
The decision was announced in a press release signed by Muhammad Jasim Uddin, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, on Sunday (11 January).
According to the announced package upgrades, the Tk 399 5 Mbps “Sulav-5” package has now been converted into a 20 Mbps “Sashroyi-20” package. The Tk 500 12 Mbps “Sulav-12” package has been upgraded to a 25 Mbps “Sashroyi-25” package. At the same price, the campus 15 Mbps package will now offer speeds of 50 Mbps.
In addition, the Tk 800 15 Mbps package has been upgraded to 50 Mbps, the Tk 1,050 20 Mbps package to 100 Mbps, and the Tk 1,150 25 Mbps package will now provide speeds of 120 Mbps.
Among the higher-speed packages, the Tk 1,300 30 Mbps package has been upgraded to 130 Mbps, the Tk 1,500 40 Mbps package to 150 Mbps, and the Tk 1,700 50 Mbps package will now offer internet speeds of 170 Mbps.
As a result of this initiative, BTCL customers will be able to enjoy faster and higher-quality internet services at the same cost as before. BTCL authorities hope that this speed increase will add new momentum to online education, office work, video streaming, gaming, and the use of smart services.
BTCL believes that this decision will further accelerate the country’s digital transformation process. Emphasizing that ensuring customer satisfaction and quality service is the company’s primary goal, the authorities stated that such customer-friendly initiatives will continue in the future. BTCL also expressed gratitude to customers for their continued trust and cooperation.
