The makers of Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders released the trailer of the crime thriller on Tuesday, marking the return of Nawazuddin Siddiqui to the screen as Inspector Jatil.
Directed by Honey Trehan and written by Smita Singh, the film also features Chitrangda Singh, Rajat Kapoor, Radhika Apte, and Sanjay Kapoor, and is set to stream on Netflix from December 19.
The trailer depicts a wealthy family found murdered inside their locked mansion, with each survivor concealing fear and secrets.
Nawazuddin’s character is brought in to investigate a more complex case, complicated further by conflicting witness accounts.
Chitrangda appears as one of the survivors, while suspicion also seems to fall on Sanjay Kapoor’s character. Netflix shared the trailer on its Instagram account.
Nawazuddin described returning to the role of Jatil as exciting, noting that while the character may have evolved, his determination, objectivity, and sharp eye for detail remain his defining traits.
Chitrangda spoke about her role as layered and challenging, explaining that her character Meera embodies both fragility and strength, living in emotional and psychological shadows, and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to portray such a complex character.
