A heartfelt discussion, prayer, and Iftar Mahfil was held today, Friday, February 20, to honor the life and legacy of the late Noor Mohammad (Banker)—an exemplary personality, dedicated educationist, and social worker of the Rajbari area in Bandar.
The event was jointly organized by the friends of the deceased’s three sons—Selim, Sohel, and Sohag. Driven by the children’s profound respect for their father and the sincere love of their friends, the gathering brought together people from all walks of life in the Rajbari community, creating a deeply emotional atmosphere.
During the memorial meeting, speakers highlighted that Mr. Noor Mohammad was not only a successful official of Uttara Bank Limited but also a pillar of the educational and social framework in Bandar. His extensive contributions include:
-
Serving three consecutive terms as an elected member of the Managing Committee of B.M. School and College.
-
Member of the Managing Committee of Giasuddin Chowdhury School and College.
-
Member of the Governing Body of Bandar Islamia Fazil (Degree) Madrasa, contributing to both religious and modern education.
-
Guardian Representative at Sikdar Abdul Malek High School.
-
Member of the Shahi Mosque Panchayat Committee, playing a vital role in maintaining social unity.
The program commenced after the Asr prayer, followed by a special prayer (Munajat) seeking the eternal peace of his soul. Friends, family, and well-wishers joined the prayer with tearful eyes, praying for his place in Jannatul Firdaus. Following the prayer, Iftar was distributed among more than a hundred attendees.
Mr. Noor Mohammad passed away at the age of 70, leaving behind his wife, seven children, and countless admirers. While his departure has left a void in the Bandar area, this memorial and Iftar Mahfil served as a testament to the fact that his legacy of selflessness and service remains alive in the hearts of the people.
