Doctors treating Inquilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi at Singapore General Hospital have said his condition remains critical, with no significant improvement so far.
The update was shared on Tuesday by Dr Abdul Ahad, a neurosurgeon at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and a member of the medical team that carried out Hadi’s initial treatment in Dhaka.
In a video message, Dr Ahad cited information provided by doctors at Singapore General Hospital.
He said a CT scan of Hadi’s brain had been conducted in Singapore, which showed that swelling in the brain remains unchanged.
“There is no good news at this moment,” Dr Ahad said. “The swelling in his brain is still the same.”
Dr Ahad added that Hadi’s vital organs—including his kidneys, heart and lungs—are currently being supported through artificial ventilation, meaning machines are assisting his breathing and other life-sustaining functions.
He said a CT scan of Hadi’s lungs showed the presence of blood accumulation, indicating further complications.
Addressing speculation circulating on social media, Dr Ahad said reports claiming that Hadi had opened his eyes were incorrect.
“No such improvement has occurred,” he said. “His condition remains critical.”
On the question of whether Hadi might regain consciousness, Dr Ahad said doctors have not been able to make any clear assessment at this stage.
“They are unable to predict such an outcome,” he said, adding that while the medical situation remains grave, “anything is possible by the will of God.”
Hadi was transferred to Singapore for advanced treatment after receiving initial medical care in Dhaka. He continues to remain under close observation at Singapore General Hospital.
