Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) Media and Communication Club of hosted its inaugural panel discussion, titled “Unscripted 1.0,” on Wednesday at the Shadhinota Auditorium on the university campus.
The event brought together four prominent figures from Bangladesh’s media and entertainment industry for an unfiltered conversation on creativity, resilience, and the responsibilities of working in public spaces.
The session, which ran from 11am to approximately 1:45pm, featured journalist and news presenter Ahmed Reza from Jamuna TV; travel content creator and host of The Apurbo Show, Mehedi Hasan Apurbo; actress and model Sabila Nur; and broadcaster and media personality Dipty Chowdhury from Channel i.
Centred around the question, “What goes on in a creator’s mind?”, the dialogue explored the creative process and the burden of influence beyond polished success stories.
At the commencement of the programme, MCC General Secretary Shanzin Saima Sharita presented the event’s concept and objectives. MCC President Nigar Israt and faculty moderator Lecturer Israt Jahan Oishe also addressed the audience.

The event was hosted by Saima Fardaus Kotha and Saira Nur, while the panel discussion was moderated by Mustak Shahriar Shuvo and Tanjima Nusrat Chowdhury.
The Chief Guest, Lieutenant Colonel Mahmud Hasan Tariq, PPM, PPMS, PSC, Chairman of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at BUP, formally welcomed the panelists. He noted that the initiative was made possible through the collective efforts of the MCC family.
During the discussion, Dipty Chowdhury reflected on life’s unpredictability, noting that while fortune may open doors, long-term success depends on how individuals handle the challenges that test them.
Mehedi Hasan Apurbo emphasised the importance of maintaining authenticity, describing it as both the greatest challenge and achievement in today’s media environment.
He encouraged students to learn through mistakes during their university years, adding, “I am just trying to enjoy the process,” and citing Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo’s philosophy as a personal inspiration.
Ahmed Reza highlighted the necessity of resilience and self-awareness in identifying one’s strengths, sharing how debate practice helped develop his own communication skills.
Sabila Nur encouraged the audience to take “leaps of faith,” stating that the choices made in response to life’s repeated signals ultimately shape one’s journey.
The event also included a mid-session game segment to provide a lighter moment. In the closing ceremony, Chief Guest Lieutenant Colonel Mahmud Hasan Tariq presented crests and tokens of appreciation to the panelists.
The MCC, a student-led organisation under the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, aims to bridge academic learning with the evolving digital and mainstream media landscape.
Organisers noted that Unscripted 1.0 marks the first major panel discussion of its kind for the club, with plans to continue the series in future editions.
