The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has launched a new sub-module called ‘Truck Movement’ in the Asycuda World system to monitor the movement of cargo trucks coming from India more effectively and transparently.
The NBR said that information related to the entry of every Indian cargo truck into the country and the return of empty trucks will now be stored electronically.
Initially, the pilot operation of this sub-module started at the Customs House, Benapole from December 15.
Earlier, this information was stored manually.
With the launch of the new module, the actual information on the arrival and departure of Indian trucks can be stored accurately.
In addition, it will be easier to determine the duration of the truck’s stay, real-time monitoring and immediate report preparation.
This will not only improve information management but also provide significant help in preventing revenue loss, the NBR said.
According to the NBR, this digital system will ensure transparency and accountability in customs operations, while strengthening border security. The live operation of the ‘Truck Movement’ sub-module will be started very soon at all land ports of the country.
