Noakhali Express are set to make their debut in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), and they have already created a major talking point. For the first time in the tournament’s history, a father and son will feature together on the same team, which is owned by Desh Travels.
Afghan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi was included in the squad earlier, and ahead of the tournament, his eldest son, Hasan Isakhil, has also been signed, completing the historic pairing.
On Tuesday evening (23 December), Noakhali Express shared a photo of the father and son to announce their arrival.
While father-son combinations have been seen in other leagues, this marks a first for the BPL. Hasan Isakhil, a right-handed batter, primarily plays as an opener. Although he has not yet represented Afghanistan at senior level, the 19-year-old has played for the Under-19 national side.
Noakhali Express will play their opening match on 26 December, taking on Chattogram Royals at 7:45 PM.
