Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate SM Khaliduzzaman has collected his nomination papers on Saturday for Dhaka-17 constituency ahead of election.
The nomination collection programme took on a distinctive tone as July fighters and several parents of martyrs accompanied him throughout the process.
The July fighters present at the event expressed their support and sought votes in favour of Khaliduzzaman.
They said their support was not based on party affiliation, but rather on Khaliduzzaman’s work, and his commitment to serving people with sincerity and dedication.
Khaliduzzaman formally collected nomination papers from the office of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) assistant returning officer.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, “Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi is no longer among us. We will fulfil his hopes and aspirations.”
