A new chapter has begun for another batch of young students at UCSI University’s Bangladesh Branch Campus. The campus, located in Banani, Dhaka, was bustling with new students as the orientation programme for the January 2026 semester took off on Saturday, according to a press release.
The event was attended by new students, parents, and university faculty members.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Mohd Kushairi bin Mohd Rajuddin graced the orientation as the chief guest. The ceremony commenced with the national anthems of Bangladesh and Malaysia as new students took an oath as part of the initiation ceremony.
Welcoming the new students, Registrar Professor Shah Samiur Rashid gave an encouraging speech, while the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Digital Innovation, Professor Syed Akhtar Hossain, delivered the closing remarks. The event was moderated by senior students Shoshi Hossain and Ahanaf Fateh Hossain.

Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Kushairi emphasised to the students that enrolling at UCSI University is a wise decision, as it ranks among the top 300 universities in the world and 9th in Asia. He highlighted that the students are embarking on their higher education journey at a world-class university, creating an opportunity to meet the expectations of themselves, their families, and the nation. He urged students and parents to trust in the university’s quality of education, which is focused on career-oriented and industry-relevant curricula.
Dean Professor Syed Akhtar Hossain welcomed the new students and mentioned that their journey towards fulfilling their dreams has started at a university that is not only the best in Malaysia but also among the top institutions globally. He informed the students that UCSI University Bangladesh is working on establishing a spacious city campus by 2029, which will open new doors for their education.
Registrar Professor Shah Samiur Rashid advised the students that their higher education journey is beginning at a prestigious university. He acknowledged that while this path will present challenges, it also holds immense opportunities, urging them to seize this chance to shape their future effectively.
After the briefing, faculty members provided the new students with information about UCSI University, its curriculum, courses, teaching methods, examinations, and extracurricular activities. Following the presentation, the students toured the campus, visiting classrooms, seminar rooms, various labs, the library, and the sports zone.
