
Aviation and Aerospace University, Bangladesh (AAUB) has appointed Air Vice Marshal M Mustafizur Rahman BSP GUP nswc afwc psc GD(P) as its new Vice-Chancellor, with effect from 21 January 2026, the university said.
Upon assuming charge, Rahman sought the cooperation of all stakeholders and urged faculty, staff and students to work with honesty, dedication and sincerity to build AAUB into a centre of excellence in aviation and space research.
Rahman brings more than three decades of experience in aviation planning, operations and flight safety. A qualified aviator, he has held a range of senior appointments across the Bangladesh Air Force and the Armed Forces Division, including Air Secretary, Director Planning, Director Flight Safety and Director General (Training).
His academic background includes a BSc in Aeronautics from Rajshahi University, a Masters in Defence Studies from National University Bangladesh, an MSc from Madras University India and the National Defence College Pakistan, and an MPhil from Bangladesh University of Professionals.
Rahman has also served as Directing Staff at the Defence Services Command and Staff College Mirpur and on the Armed Forces War Course at the National Defence College (NDC). Prior to joining AAUB, he was working as a Senior Directing Staff at the National Defence College.
For his professional contributions, Rahman has received the Air Force Bishisto Sheba Padak (BSP) and the Gouraboujjal Uddoyon Padak (GUP).
