Afnan Ibne Hasan, a student of Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU), has been elected joint general secretary of the Mymensingh District Student Welfare Association at the university, according to a press release.
Hasan has been actively involved in social, cultural and humanitarian activities alongside his academic work, with contributions focused on student welfare, mutual cooperation and fostering unity among students from the Mymensingh region.
“The Mymensingh District Student Welfare Association is a non-political, social and humanitarian organisation,” Hasan said, adding that he aims to work with sincerity and integrity, with the cooperation of others, to implement the organisation’s goals and objectives.
His priorities include strengthening student welfare initiatives, promoting cultural development, enhancing mutual brotherhood and contributing to broader social progress, he said, seeking support and cooperation from members.
Hasan also said new initiatives would be introduced to make the organisation’s activities more dynamic, transparent and student-friendly, expressing optimism that these efforts would strengthen its overall effectiveness.
The Mymensingh District Student Welfare Association has long been engaged in social and humanitarian activities for students and the wider community. Under the newly elected committee, the organisation is expected to expand its role and contribute more actively to student welfare and community development.
