Amir Hossain, a veteran photojournalist who spent his whole life working honestly with a camera, is now fighting for his life in a hospital bed. Due to a severe lack of money and many serious illnesses, he is now completely helpless. He is the former Vice President of the Bandar Press Club.
Currently, he is in a very critical condition at the Khanpur 300-Bed Hospital in Narayanganj. For more than a month, the elderly journalist has been fighting between life and death.
According to hospital and family sources, he is suffering not only from typhoid fever but also from many old-age diseases. Doctors say his physical condition is very bad and painful.
Due to severe typhoid, he has lost his teeth, developed a growth in his nose, and damaged his eardrums, leaving him almost completely deaf. He has also lost most of his eyesight, so he cannot recognize close relatives or long-time colleagues standing in front of him.
Additionally, he has severe pneumonia and a urinary tract infection, which causes him extreme pain. With mucus in his lungs and severe bone loss in both knees, he is completely bedridden.
The man who spent his life taking photos for other people’s rights is now helpless himself. His family has spent all their money on his treatment and is now completely lost. Doctors said that without advanced and long-term treatment, it is impossible for him to recover.
In this difficult situation, his family is urgently requesting the direct and kind help of Advocate Abul Kalam, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Narayanganj-5 constituency.
With tears in their eyes, Amir Hossain’s family said, “He worked for society and took photos for people all his life. Today, his treatment is stopping because we have no money. We honestly request our honorable MP, Advocate Abul Kalam, to please stand by this helpless veteran journalist.”
