A new 19-member executive committee of the Bandar Thana Press Club for the 2026–2028 term has been formed in a festive atmosphere. The committee was selected through a voice vote during a special general meeting on Thursday afternoon (July 23) at the Dreamland Chinese Restaurant in Madanpur, Bandar. The meeting was chaired by the club’s convener, Sabbir Ahmed Sentu.
In the new committee, Haji Muhammad Muhsin Dewan (Assistant Editor, Dainik Rudrabarta) was elected President, DM Mainuddin Ahmed (Editor, Press BD Dot Com) was elected General Secretary, and Monjur Ahmed Munna (News Editor, Bortoman Deshbangla 24 Dot Com) was elected Organizing Secretary.

At the meeting, speakers said that the Bandar Thana Press Club has always worked with honesty, neutrality, and high standards. Most of the club members are well-educated and experienced, including eight members with Master’s degrees and several skilled editors. To maintain professional journalism standards, the club decided to organize a training workshop every three months.
Guest speakers at the event included Shobhon Komol (Deputy Editor, Dainik Business File), Jihad Hossain (General Secretary, Narayanganj Sadar Upazila Press Club), Humayun Kabir Mridha (Editor, Dainik Purnojagoron), Md. Fakhruddin, and other local respected personalities.
At the end of the meeting, a special prayer was held for the departed souls of journalists from Bandar, Narayanganj, and across the country. The prayer was led by Maulana Md. Abu Sayeed Mia.
