Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to attend the upcoming BRICS summit in New Delhi.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaid Islam disclosed the matter while speaking to journalists at the Foreign Ministry on Thursday.
“The invitation to visit India has arrived at the Foreign Ministry. We have sent it to the Prime Minister’s Office,” she said.
The 18th BRICS Summit will be held in New Delhi on 12 and 13 September. Although Bangladesh is not a member of BRICS, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited the Bangladesh prime minister to attend the summit as a special guest.
