
Bangladesh Open University (BOU) and UNICEF held a meeting in Cox’s Bazar to discuss strengthening collaboration on inclusive education and capacity-building initiatives for vulnerable communities.
The meeting was held at the UNICEF office in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday, according to a BOU press release.
The discussion focused on expanding access to inclusive learning opportunities, strengthening educational programmes and promoting sustainable development through education.
UNICEF Education Manager and Chief of Field (Acting In-Charge) Louise Leak and Education Officer Tazreen Jahan represented UNICEF at the meeting.
Bangladesh Open University Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dil Rowshan Zinnat Ara Nazneen attended on behalf of the university.
The BOU representatives highlighted the university’s commitment to expanding quality education and collaborative initiatives for learners across the country.
Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan thanked UNICEF for involving BOU in programmes focused on the education and empowerment of vulnerable children and communities.
Both sides expressed optimism about strengthening future cooperation to promote accessible and equitable education, the press release said.
The programme was coordinated by UNICEF–BOU Focal Point Professor Mohammad Zahir Raihan.
