Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) is set to honour 23 students and 13 teachers with Dean’s Award-2026 on the university’s 20th University Day. The recipients are being recognised for their exceptional contributions to academic excellence, research activities, and publications.
The awards will be presented by Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon, during the 20th founding anniversary ceremony scheduled for Monday. According to the university’s Research Cell, the nominees include 23 students from seven faculties and 13 teachers from five faculties, selected across 26 research-based categories.
Nominated students
For the 2019-2020 academic session, the nominees from Faculty of Engineering and Technology are Nahin Sultana Liza (Electrical and Electronic Engineering), Niloy Das (Information and Communication Engineering), and Manisha Mazumder (Computer Science and Telecommunication Engineering).
From Faculty of Business Administration, Nafisa Jannatul Mawa (Management Information Systems), Sadiul Alam Chowdhury (Business Administration), and Emran Hossain (Tourism and Hospitality Management) have been selected.
Faculty of Biological Science awardees include Md Rokibul Hasan (Microbiology), Fazle Rabbi Shuvo (Pharmacy), and Sukanya Saha (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology).

Representing Faculty of Law is Md Mubdi Islam (Law), while Faculty of Science nominees are Ishrat Jahan (Statistics), Monika Dhar (Oceanography), and Sabrina Sultana Richi (Applied Mathematics).
Faculty of Arts and Social Science list features Ishrat Jahan Eva (Information Science and Library Management), Sadia Sultana (Social Work), and Mosammat Kamrun Nahar (Economics).
For 2020-2021 academic session, Faculty of Education nominees are Rahnuma Nurain (Education) and Hafsa Akter (Education Administration). From Faculty of Business Studies, Maria Tabassum (Management Information Systems), Ayesha Siddika (Tourism and Hospitality Management), and Dalia Rani Sharma (Business Administration) have been nominated.
Nominated teachers
In the teacher category, 13 faculty members have been selected for their research contributions.
The nominees from Faculty of Engineering and Technology are Dr Apurba Adhikary, Dr SM Sohel Rana, and Dr Md Ashraful Alam.
Faculty of Science awardees are Dr Mohammad Abdul Momin Siddique, Zakiul Islam, and Nigar Sultana. From Faculty of Arts and Social Science Md Atiquzzaman is nominated.
From Faculty of Business Administration, the nominees include Dr Abdul Kaium Masud, Md Shahriar Setu, and Tanvir Ahmed. Faculty of Biological Science is represented by Dr Touhid Hasan, Dr Shipon Das Gupta, and Dr Shyamal Kumar Pal.
Nafisa Jannatul Mawa, a student of the MIS department, described the award as a memorable milestone. “This achievement is a significant inspiration for me. I have learned the importance of patience, hard work, and self-belief during my journey at this university,” she stated while expressing gratitude to her family and teachers.
She further commended the university administration’s initiative, noting that such recognition boosts students’ confidence. Encouraging her juniors, she remarked, “Value your dreams, keep faith in the Creator, and compete with your own previous position rather than others”.
