
The 19th Academic Council Meeting of Aviation and Aerospace University, Bangladesh (AAUB) was held on Thursday at the university’s conference room at its Dhaka campus.
The meeting was presided over by the Vice Chancellor of AAUB, Air Vice Marshal M Mustafizur Rahman, reads a press release.
At the outset, the newly appointed vice chancellor said the aviation and aerospace sector is a rapidly developing and technology-driven future-oriented sector that plays an important role in the global economy and scientific progress.
In this context, the university is placing special emphasis on formulating modern and up-to-date curricula, implementing advanced education methods, expanding research activities and strengthening industry-academia collaboration.
He said the university is also working relentlessly to develop skilled and competitive professionals in this sector through practical training of students, international standard laboratories and infrastructure development.
The vice chancellor also informed the meeting that recently students of the university brought glory to themselves and the institution by participating in various international competitions, including Light Aircraft Design, UAV Design and Can Satellite Design.
He also mentioned that AAUB research papers have been published in international journals. He extended his greetings to the students, faculty members and supervisors and said efforts would continue in the future to provide necessary support for research activities, innovation initiatives and the establishment of new laboratories.
The vice chancellor expressed gratitude to the Bangladesh Air Force for its continuous support to the university. He also sought cooperation from all members to make the 19th Academic Council meeting successful and to achieve the goals of AAUB through active participation and constructive feedback.
Later, the chairman presented a summary of various activities carried out by the university since the 18th Academic Council meeting held on 16 October, 2025.
Members from the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Bangladesh Aviation Training Centre (BATC), Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BMU), along with other members of AAUB, participated in the meeting.
