
Stamford University Bangladesh has been ranked the leading private university in Bangladesh in the field of Microbiology in the latest EduRank 2026 global rankings.
The university also secured the sixth position overall among all public and private universities in the country in the subject, reads a press release.
The internationally recognised ranking platform, EduRank, assessed universities worldwide based on research output, scientific publications, citation impact, academic influence, and contributions to higher education and research.
The achievement has generated enthusiasm among the teachers, students, and researchers of Stamford University’s Department of Microbiology.
Vice-Chancellor of Stamford University Bangladesh, Sharif Nafe As-Saber, said the recognition reflected the university’s sustained commitment to research excellence, modern laboratory facilities, and an internationally competitive academic environment.
“Stamford University Bangladesh has always placed strong emphasis on research-based education. We are committed to further strengthening scientific innovation, research collaboration, and global academic partnerships in the coming years,” he said.
Chairman of the Department of Microbiology, Associate Professor Md Aftab Uddin, described the achievement as the result of the dedication and hard work of the department’s faculty members, students, and researchers over many years.
“We are continuously working to improve the quality of higher education and research in Microbiology. Being able to represent Bangladesh on the international stage in this discipline is a matter of immense pride for us,” he said.
The university’s achievement has been widely praised by students, guardians, and members of the academic community. Many believe the recognition will inspire aspiring students to pursue higher education and research in Microbiology.
In a press release signed by Stamford University Bangladesh’s Head of Public Relations Prodeepto Mobarook, it was said the ranking achievement would enable the university to play a more effective role in the field of higher education both in Bangladesh and globally.
