DHAKA A local non-profit organization organized an outreach program on Friday to support underprivileged children in the capital’s Kadamtali area, providing them with essential care, fresh clothes, and meals.
The event, hosted by the Momota Aloy Shishu Foundation at Jamal Miah Market in Dania, offered cooked food and new attire to dozens of street children. As part of a health and hygiene drive, organizers also arranged haircuts and bathing facilities for the young participants.
Speaking at the event, speakers emphasized the importance of safeguarding vulnerable youth to prevent them from falling into drug abuse and crime.
“Our primary goal is to stand by underprivileged children, help meet their basic needs, and encourage wealthy members of society to join humanitarian efforts,” non-profit leaders and attending journalists said in a joint statement.
Md. Asadul Sheikh, Managing Director of the foundation, presided over the gathering. He announced plans to launch mobile educational units and free medical camps in the near future.
The event was moderated by Hridoy Islam Chunnu and attended by prominent advisors, community leaders, and local journalists, including social workers Alhaj Md. Sohag, Masud Hasan Liton, Shah Alam Molla, Dr. Shahin of Bangladesh Medical University, and Senior Journalist D.H. Rana.
