Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon on Wednesday said the Ministry of Education and policymakers are working to ensure that students do not lose an additional two years from their lives.
Milon made the remark while responding to questions from journalists following the IUT Excellence Award ceremony held at the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) campus in Gazipur.
The minister emphasised that university admissions would be initiated in a manner that ensures session jams are eliminated.

He noted that the objective is to ensure the academic calendar is completed by 31 December. Milon further remarked that the mismanagement present in the education sector during previous periods must be resolved.

Earlier, attending the event as the chief guest, Milon inspected various cars and unique devices designed and built by IUT students.

He subsequently presented mementos of appreciation to students who had won prizes in various international competitions. Recognition was also accorded for special contributions to academic excellence and research.
The programme was also addressed by IUT Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Rafiqul Islam and Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Hussain Arabi Nur, among others.
