Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon on Thursday warned that strict legal action would be taken against those involved in leaking examination questions, vowing a zero-tolerance approach ahead of the HSC and equivalent examinations in 2026.
“Question leaks will not be allowed under any circumstances. Strict punishment will be ensured, and there will be no leniency,” the minister said while addressing a views-exchange meeting with officials responsible for examination centres in the Barishal region.
The meeting was held at the Barishal Shilpakala Academy auditorium, jointly organised by the Barishal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, the Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board, and the Bangladesh Technical Education Board.
The minister said the government had strengthened monitoring measures to ensure a fair and orderly examination environment, adding that those responsible for malpractice would face consequences that would serve as a lasting deterrent.
He also announced that police personnel deployed during examinations would use body-worn cameras, while all exam centres would remain under CCTV surveillance.
“No deviation will be tolerated regarding CCTV installation at examination centres,” he said, instructing authorities to establish control rooms and monitoring systems at each centre, along with proper preservation of video footage for future verification in case of complaints.
Emphasising the need for quality education, the minister said the government’s priority was to build a skilled workforce for the future. He stressed the importance of trained teachers in achieving that goal.
“We cannot remain dependent on traditional methods of teaching. Teachers must carry out their responsibilities properly and adapt to modern education requirements,” he added.
He further said that training programmes for teachers had already been introduced to improve classroom standards and educational outcomes.
